Utility Helicopters

This paper will cover utility aircraft use, mission profiles, a bit of research and development, and some crystal-balling. What we most want to do is stick to the mission assigned which is to take a look at the past, present and future uses of utility aircraft, and talk about where we stand today and what we should be looking for in the future. But first, some definition. Not covered will be the long list of utility aircraft used by the United States Army, but we will confine comments to those that will, hopefully, give the hest insights into concepts, materiel development, doctrine and organization. The article will not be technical in nature because the authors speak better From the user side of the house.
