A pressure gage instrumented model rotor was tested at the Duits Nederlandse Windtunnel (DNW) during July and August 1986. This cooperative research effort between the Boeing Vertol Company and the Army Aeroflightdynamics Directorate (AFDD), with NASA Ames participation, was the second DNW entry in the AFDD’s Aerodynamic and Acoustic Testing of Model Rotors (AATMR) Program. The rotor tested was a 1/5th scale model of the Boeing Vertol Model 360 rotor. The data acquired includes rotor performance, blade and control loads, blade pressures and acoustic measurements. The scaled Model 360 rotor was tested both in the anechoic, open Jet test section, and in the 8m by 6m closed test section of the DNW. This paper contains an initial review of the performance, loads and blade airloads measurements obtained during the high speed, closed test section portion of the test. This paper is also meant as an introduction to data which, when reduced, will be useful in validating the computational methods necessary to design of the next generation of advanced helicopter rotors.
