Military special vehicles are very often modernized during years of their exploitation. Also, very often a new version of their base chassis is developed. Interference in technical and exploitation parameters might lower safety ground. The paper presents problems in development and construction of patrol vehicles and those for armed intervention and research for upper safety ground in future new versions of the vehicles. During exploitations, there are many changes made to the following parameters: level of protection and weapons, which depend on a type of mission. This article presents experimental tests, recommended by ISO, and their result for: HMMWV, HMMWV with extra armor, and for antiterrorism vehicle “WILD BOAR” that Polish MP is equipped with.
