Development of design parameters for a Circulation Control Rotor (CCR) blade has presented new problems and modified thinking on some of the traditional problems. This paper provides a discussion of the structural, external aerodynamic, and internal aerodynamic problems peculiar to the CCR blade. It shows how these problems are interrelated and demonstrates one method of design optimization. Material previously covered by NSRDC and others on performance of the CCR is not discussed, but is used in establishing the air loading on candidate structural arrangements.
