Flight testing of the V22 has been ongoing since first flight on March 19, 1989. This paper presents an overview of the flying qualities evaluation and development of the V22. Government evaluations of the V22, which have demonstrated the aircraft’s mission potential for ground and sea based operations, are discussed. Results include testing of the Primary Flight Control System (PFCS) and the Automatic Flight Control System (AFCS). These results show that the V22 is in compliance with the applicable military specifications for flying qualities.
