- We have developed a new self-control multi-point fuel injection system (hereinafter called ”SFCI-M”) for two-wheel vehicles. This paper discusses the development results and technical features of the SFCI-M.Multi-point injection (MPI) systems for two-wheel vehicles have been unpopular somewhat. For one thing, an MPI was more expensive than a carburetor. For another, its performance has left something to be desired. However, the situation has come to justify the production of MPI units for two-wheel vehicles. The factors which have led to this trend are, among others:
-
a)
Costs of MPI units for four-wheelers have come down.
-
b)
Interest in two-wheel vehicles featuring electronically controlled devices such as ignition systems has gained momentum.
-
c)
Prices of two-wheel vehicles have become higher reflecting high-value-added tendency.
