Design and Prototyping of a New Coaxial VTOL UAV Concept

This paper introduces a new VTOL small UAV concept. This concept features a coaxial rotor design with novel control mechanism. A prototype is constructed to demonstrate the viability and operational principle of the control mechanism. An optimization is conducted on the baseline to reduce hover power and then compared to two existing quadrotors.
