With advanced helicopter systems requiring greater maneuverability and higher forward airspeed capability, a weight effective vibration reduction system, such as a higher harmonic control system, will be a design requirement. Higher harmonic control is a control system designed to suppress the harmonic airloads which have significant effects on fuselage vibration. In order to achieve a successful higher harmonic control design, the control algorithms must be capable of reducing fuselage vibration throughout the entire speed range. This is a difficult and challenging task.
