COMBAT SUPPORT REQUIREMENTS FOR FUTURE ARMY AIRCRAFT

Current weapon systems have severe supportability drawbacks, and these drawbacks and the reasons unsupportable designs are encouraged are described. New Army policy requirements covering two level maintenance, O&S cost reduction, MANPRINT, and combat support requirements are discussed, and the supportability improvements and their system design side effects are detailed. Two hypothetical system proposals are discussed and conclusions and recommendations are drawn.
