Regulated diagnostic communication in an Service Oriented Vehicle Diagnostics context

"The introduction of HPC (High Performance Computers) is a paradigm shift, suddenly we move from ECUs and bus topology to computers in a star topology. Today's diagnostic communication protocols are ECU oriented and not suited for HPCs, therefore there is a new diagnostic protocol being developed by ASAM, called SOVD (Service Oriented Vehicle DIagnostics). This presentation will give a small introduction to that protocol as well as some examples how to comply to regulated diagnostic protocols since it will take years until regulations reference the new protocol."
