Scope
This report relates to recommendations and specifications governing the classification, composition, test procedures, and properties of printed circuits commonly used to replace cable in automotive low voltage systems. It is not applicable to miniature circuits for solid state devices, high impedance or high voltage functions.

Electrical Distribution Steering Committee
The scope of the Electrical Distribution Systems Steering Committee includes the development and maintenance of standards and recommended practices for automotive power and signal distribution systems used in passenger cars and light duty trucks. The scope includes standards for wiring systems, connection systems, cable, and harness coverings. Standards are developed for all voltage ratings up to but not including ignition cable assemblies and components. The scope does not include circuit protection or switching devices.
