Scope
Encompasses terminology related to directional control of vehicles. Revisions have also been made to update the original terminology.
The function of uniform terminology is to promote understandable and exact communication. A great deal of effort has been expended to make these definitions suit this purpose. It is recognized that this terminology, like other dictionaries, must be revised periodically to reflect current usage and changing needs.

Vehicle Dynamics Standards Committee
The Vehicle Dynamics Standards Committee (VDSC) reports to the Vehicle Performance Steering Committee. The VDSC develops Information Reports, Recommended Practices and Standards related to the dynamics of passenger cars and light trucks, excluding trailers. The committee establishes tests and analyses that contribute to the understanding of the ride and handling performance of the total vehicle as a dynamic system.

* Redlines comparisons are available for those standards
listed in the Revision History that contain a radio button. A
redline comparison of the current version against a revision is
accomplished by selecting the radio button next to the standard and
then selecting 'compare'. At this time, Redline versions only exist
for some AMS standards. SAE will continue to add redline versioning
with ongoing updates to SAE MOBILUS.
