The Truck and Bus Event Data Recorder Committee of the Truck and Bus Electrical/Electronic Steering Committee is reponsible for establishing common data elements and definitions for commercial vehicle (>10,000 GVWR) event data recording. Specify event triggers and threshold levels. recommend data extraction methods. Leverage existing SAE Recommended Practices and standards. Take into consideration current vehicle architecture without limiting future advancements.
