Scope
The purpose of this SAE Recommended Practice is to establish reference standards for airflow measurements in the ranges required for testing automotive engine induction systems and to describe equipment that will facilitate the use of such standards to check the accuracy of various equipment and methods.

Engine Power Test Code Committee
The Engine Power Test Code Standards Committee reports to the Powertrain Systems Group of the Motor Vehicle Council. The Committee is responsible for developing and maintaining SAE Standards, Recommended Practices, and Information Reports related to the dynamometer testing of internal combustion engines for applications other than marine or aircraft use. Participants in the SAE Engine Power Test Code Standards Committee include OEMs, suppliers, consulting firms, government, and other interested parties.
