Scope
This SAE Standard applies to the usage of tires of the same nominal size and tread type, but with different outside diameter for articulated front-end loaders. Articulated four-wheel-drive front-end loader performance and component life can be affected by excessive differences in the tire outside circumference and/or diameter. The purpose is to provide specific guidelines for the usage of tires with different outside circumference and/or diameter on articulated front-end loaders.
Rationale
This SAE Standard establishes specific guidelines for original equipment manufacturers, tire manufacturers, tire service companies, and the owner-operator on usage of tires on an articulated wheel type loader. This guideline is for tire usage, new to worn and/or worn to worn for both front to rear, and side to side of an articulated wheel loader.

Issuing Committee
The MTC8, Tire and Rim Committee of the Machine Technical Steering Committee is responsible for developing, reviewing, and approving recommended practices, standards, and information reports related to the tires and rims used on off-highway, self-propelled work machines and related equipment. Harmonization with ISO and other industry standards is a global objective as well as awareness of governmental regulations that may affect the work of this committee.

* Redlines comparisons are available for those standards
listed in the Revision History that contain a radio button. A
redline comparison of the current version against a revision is
accomplished by selecting the radio button next to the standard and
then selecting 'compare'. At this time, Redline versions only exist
for some AMS standards. SAE will continue to add redline versioning
with ongoing updates to SAE MOBILUS.
