Scope
This SAE Recommended Practice applies to driving ring type overcenter clutches such as are used in industrial power takeoffs.
This document is intended to provide a uniform test procedure for overcenter clutches to determine either the rotative speed at which they will burst or a specified speed they will withstand without burst.
