Scope
This white paper by the International Alliance for Mobility Testing and Standardization (IAMTS) is the first release of an ongoing effort to develop best practices for validating virtual testing of automated driving systems (ADSs). It provides a best practices approach for validating simulation testing against physical baselines for the purposes of validation/homologation of an ADS. This approach is presented in four steps with examples of their application and an explanation of further work being pursued on this topic. This publication is funded by IAMTS members and is provided free of charge to the public.

* Redlines comparisons are available for those standards
listed in the Revision History that contain a radio button. A
redline comparison of the current version against a revision is
accomplished by selecting the radio button next to the standard and
then selecting 'compare'. At this time, Redline versions only exist
for some AMS standards. SAE will continue to add redline versioning
with ongoing updates to SAE MOBILUS.
