Welcome to the SAE International S-9A Safety Equipment and Survival Systems Committee public forum area. The SAE S-9A Safety Equipment and Survival Systems Committee develops air transport industry standards and recommended practices that address the design and/or performance of safety equipment and survival systems that enhance the safety and survivability of aircraft passengers and crew in emergency situations. The S-9A committee provides a forum for the exchange of information relating to aircraft safety equipment and survival systems. It identifies the needs and encourage research in the design, performance, and/or implementation of safety equipment and survival systems, including consideration of operational, human factors, and ergonomics issues. It also advises, consults and cooperates with industry, government, aviation organizations, other standardization bodies, and others on matters relating to aircraft safety equipment and survival systems.
