This procurement specification covers split cotter pins with optional ends (see Figure 1), made from a corrosion and heat resistant steel of the type identified under the Unified Numbering System as UNS S32100.
Rationale

The SAE E-25 General Standards for Aerospace & Propulsion Systems committee addresses aerospace propulsion systems and components. These systems and components include bolts, screws, nuts, washers, studs, rivets, pins, covers, O-rings, brackets, plugs and associated procurement requirements, as well as solid film lubricants and design specifications for screw threads and fastener assembly requirements.
