Scope
This SAE Standard defines the general requirements and provides a system for the control of quality for conformal coatings suitable for application to printed circuit assemblies.
Rationale
This Standard is a direct replacement for DEF STAN 59-47 and has been reproduced by SAE International under the UK Defence Intellectual Property Rights (DIPR) Agreement D/IPR/04/CR-0239-17-0008. The technical content remains unchanged from Issue 4 of the Defence Standard it supersedes. Some alterations to the qualification and process control arrangements have been made. Any queries should be referred via the link shown in the feedback box at the bottom of this page.

* Redlines comparisons are available for those standards
listed in the Revision History that contain a radio button. A
redline comparison of the current version against a revision is
accomplished by selecting the radio button next to the standard and
then selecting 'compare'. At this time, Redline versions only exist
for some AMS standards. SAE will continue to add redline versioning
with ongoing updates to SAE MOBILUS.
