This specification covers a corrosion- and heat-resistant nickel alloy in the form of welding wire.
Rationale
AMS5800 is the result of a Five-Year Review and update of the specification. The revision revises the title to reflect the melt route and common name, updates composition test method and reporting (see 3.1 and 3.1.4), updates the prohibition on unauthorized exceptions (see 4.4.1 and 8.4), adds country of origin to reporting requirements (see 4.4), and updates alloy verification requirements (5.2).
The committee of Corrosion and Heat Resistant Steels and Alloys and Specialty Steels and Alloys, AMS Committee F, will prepare, coordinate, and revise documents related to corrosion and heat resistant steels and alloys and specialty steels and alloys technology, such as stainless steels and nickel and base alloys, through the participation of metals suppliers, users, and interested government agencies. Committee activities shall provide a forum for the cooperative interchange of ideas and experience of the participants, resulting in the publication of specifications that embody sound, established aerospace industry practices and requirements to serve the suppliers and customers of aerospace materials.

Wild Cards
Using the asterisk, ( * ) allows you to search for a partial word. For example, entering a keyword search of aero* will search for any word beginning with aero.
Using the question mark, ( ? ) allows you to search for a word with a single character wildcard. For example, searching for t?re would match both tire and tyre
Using Quotes
Words in double quotes " " are treated as a phrase. Conducting a search for "heat model" will return all results in which the exact phrase "heat model" is found, while "heat modeling" would NOT be included.
A term combined with a phrase will be joined with an OR operator.
