Steel, Corrosion and Heat-Resistant, Welding Wire, 16.5Cr - 4.5Ni - 2.9Mo - 0.10N
- Aerospace Material Specification
This specification covers a corrosion and heat resistant steel in the form of welding wire.
This wire has been used typically as filler metal for gas-tungsten-arc or gas-metal-arc welding of parts fabricated from steels or alloys of similar composition requiring joints with strength and corrosion resistance comparable to those of the basis metal, but usage is not limited to such applications.
Data Sets - Support Documents
The committee of Corrosion and Heat Resistant Steels and Alloys and Specialty Steels and Alloys, AMS Committee F, will prepare, coordinate, and revise documents related to corrosion and heat resistant steels and alloys and specialty steels and alloys technology, such as stainless steels and nickel and base alloys, through the participation of metals suppliers, users, and interested government agencies. Committee activities shall provide a forum for the cooperative interchange of ideas and experience of the participants, resulting in the publication of specifications that embody sound, established aerospace industry practices and requirements to serve the suppliers and customers of aerospace materials.
