This specification covers a titanium alloy in the form of bars, wire, forgings, and flash welded rings 4.000 inches (101.60 mm) and under in nominal diameter or least distance between parallel sides and of stock for forging and flash welded rings.
These products have been used typically for parts which are machined after solution and precipitation heat treatment and aging and are suitable for parts requiring high strength-to-weight ratios up to moderately elevated temperatures, but usage is not limited to such applications.

The committee of Titanium, Beryllium, and Refractory Materials, AMS Committee G, is responsible for preparation, revision, review and approval of documents related to aerospace application of these materials. Included are titanium, beryllium, and refractory metallic such as molybdenum, tantalum, and columbium. The committee provides a forum for interchange of experience and ideas among industry representatives, both suppliers and users, along with interested government agencies, to ensure the utility, proper technical content, and industry acceptance of published documents.
