This specification covers one grade of commercially-pure titanium in the form of bars, wire, forgings, flash welded rings, and stock for forging or flash welded rings.
These products have been used typically for parts requiring strength up to 400 degrees F (204 degrees C) and oxidation resistance up to 600 degrees F (316 degrees C), but usage is not limited to such applications.

The committee of Titanium, Beryllium, and Refractory Materials, AMS Committee G, is responsible for preparation, revision, review and approval of documents related to aerospace application of these materials. The committee provides a forum for interchange of experience and ideas among industry representatives, both suppliers and users, along with interested government agencies, to ensure the utility, proper technical content, and industry acceptance of published documents.
