This specification provides requirements for the identification and packaging of sheet, strip, extrusions, and molded parts made of natural rubber, synthetic rubber, reclaimed rubber, and combinations of the above with other materials such as asbestos, cork, and fabrics. AMS2817 covers preferred requirements for identification and packaging of preformed packings.
This specification is being revised to add the material specification number to the packaging in order to be consistent with AMS2817 Section 5.

Welcome to the AMS-CE Elastomers Committee Discussion Forum.The AMS-CE Elastomers Committee maintains Aerospace Materials Specifications (AMS), Aerospace Recommended Practices (ARP), Aerospace Information Reports (AIR) and Aerospace Standards (AS) on elastomeric materials. AMS-CE, which reports to the Aerospace Materials Division, coordinates and maintains liaison with industry, government and other standardization groups on elastomeric materials. A significant part of this committee is concerned with elastomeric fluid sealing materials, their applications, material development, testing, quality, design parameters and design practices.
