Scope
This SAE Standard includes complete general and dimensional specifications for those types of pipe, filler, and drain plugs (shown in Figures 1 to 6 and Tables 1 to 4) commonly used in automotive and related industrial applications.

The Air Brake Tubing and Tube Fittings Committee develops and maintains SAE Standards, Recommended Practices and Information Reports relating to tubing and fittings of air brake systems. Participants in the Air Brake Tubing and Tube Fittings Committee of the Truck and Bus Brake and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems Steering Committee includes OEMs, suppliers, consulting firms, government and other interested parties.
