Scope
This SAE Recommended Practice is intended for service only. Use ANSI B92.1, 1a, and B92.2M. This document contains information on inch serrated shaft ends and hole dimensions. For metric information, see TSB 003.
Rationale
Committee felt that SAE J500 was not a viable document because it did not define the geometry of the serrations it covered. The present tabulated dimensions were no improvements over the previous table. The document itself says that it is not to be used for design.
