This document covers un-shielded balanced single twisted pair data cable intended for use in surface vehicle cables for 100 Mbps Ethernet applications. The tests in this document are intended to qualify cables for normal operation in an automotive environment while maintaining the necessary electrical properties for reliable data transmission.
This is a new document for un-shielded balanced single twisted pair data cable intended for use in surface vehicle cables for 100BASE-T1 Ethernet PHY (100 Mbps) applications.

The scope of the Cable Standards Committee includes the development of standards for automotive cable used in passenger cars and light duty trucks. The scope includes all voltage rating up to but not including ignition cable. Additionally, the committee strives to harmonize SAE and ISO standards by establishing uniform test methods, dimensions, & performance requirements.
* Redlines comparisons are available for those standards listed in the Revision History that contain a radio button. A redline comparison of the current version against a revision is accomplished by selecting the radio button next to the standard and then selecting 'compare'. At this time, Redline versions only exist for some AMS standards. SAE will continue to add redline versioning with ongoing updates to SAE MOBILUS.
