Scope
This SAE recommended practice provides procedures and methods for testing service, spring applied parking and combination brake actuators for air disc brake applications. Methods and recommended samples for testing durability, function and environmental performance are listed in 1.1 and 1.2.
Rationale
SAE J2902 has been reaffirmed to comply with the SAE Five-Year Review policy.

The Truck and Bus Brake Actuator Committee of the Truck and Bus Brake and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems Steering Committee is responsible for developing, reviewing, and approving recommended practices, standards, and information reports related to air brake actuators and their interfacing as used on trucks, tractor-trailer combinations and buses over 10,000 lbs (4500 Kg) GVWR designed primarily for highway use.
