Scope
This SAE Recommended. Practice provides uniform laboratory procedures for fatigue testing certain production disc wheels, spoke wheels, and demountable rims intended for normal highway use on trucks, buses, truck-trailers, and multipurpose passenger vehicles. Standardized fatigue tests are yet to be developed for wheels/rims not covered in this recommended practice.

Issuing Committee
The responsibility of the Truck and Bus Wheel Committee of the Truck and Bus Brake and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems Steering Committee is to initiate, develop, review and approve the recommended practices, standards, and information reports related to hubs, wheels and the wheel mounting systems of buses, trucks and tractor-trailer combinations intended for highway use. The Wheel Committee is constituted so as to be aware of other SAE wheel activity and to prevent duplication of effort.
