Scope
This SAE Recommended Practice defines an Inertia Dynamometer Test procedure that assesses the effectiveness behavior of a friction material with regard to pressure, temperature and speed for motor vehicles fitted with hydraulic brake actuation.

Brake Dynamometer Standards Committee
The Brake Dynamometer Standards Committee is part of the Foundation Brake Steering Committee that reports to the Motor Vehicle Council. The committee is responsible for developing standards, recommended practices, and information reports for brake dynamometer testing, for on-road vehicles below 4540 kg of Gross Vehicle Weight Rating. The committee also maintains liaison activities with other Standard Development Organizations or industry consortia.
