Truck and Bus Foundation Brake Committee
The Truck and Bus Foundation Brake Committee of the Truck and Bus Brake and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems Steering Committee is responsible for developing, reviewing, and approving recommended practices, standards, and information reports relative to foundation brakes; including brake lining friction materials, manual and automatic brake adjusters and their interfacing as utilized on trucks, tractor-trailer combinations, and buses over 10,000 lbs (4500 Kg) GVWR designed primarily for highway use. The activities of this committee are to be directed so as to concentrate on heavy duty foundation brakes and their corresponding lining friction materials, and not, in any way to duplicate the efforts of any other SAE committee.
