The Truck and Bus Electronically Controlled Brake Systems Subcommittee of the Bus Brake Committee is responsible for developing, reviewing, and approving recommended practices, standards, and information reports related to electronically controlled brake systems and their interfacing with other vehicle systems. This includes pneumatic and hydraulic brake systems on trucks, tractor-trailer combinations and buses over 10,000 lbs. (4500 Kg) GVWR designed primarily for highway use. The jurisdiction of this Truck and Bus Electronically Controlled Brake Systems Subcommittee includes the anti-lock, traction control, and electropneumatics/hydraulics systems and components. All efforts will be made to not duplicate the efforts of other Truck and Bus SAE groups through close liaison with SAE groups responsible for related areas. The Truck & Bus Electronically Controlled Brake Systems Subcommittee shall have authority to establish appropirate working groups to support the development of the above documents and to discharge the subcommittees when assignments are completed.
