This SAE Information Report is intended to provide design guidance in the selection of steel tubing and related tube fittings for general hydraulic system applications. The information presented herein is based on tubing products which conform to SAE standards listed in the reference section.

The Metallic Tubing Subcommittee of the FCCTC develops and maintains SAE Standards, Recommended Practices and Information Reports relating to metallic tubing with an intended use in pressure applications. Participants in the FCCTC Metallic Tubing Subcommittee include OEMs, suppliers, consulting firms, government and other interested parties.
