Design Verification and Production Validation for Product Development

This seminar introduces the participants to Design Verification and Product Validation (DV&PV), an effective engineering tool to ensure that today's problems are not present in tomorrow' products and a product will perform according to its design intent.

The seminar prepares the participants to effectively identify the requirements in DV&PV, develop Design Verification Plan and Production Validation Plan, identify the resources required, and analyze the test results. The seminar will teach the participants how to use DV&PV to capture their thoughts as they verify a product or a process. This systematic approach formalizes and documents the mental discipline that an engineer normally goes through in any design process.

The seminar will also introduce some latest ideas of reliability methods aimed at failure mode avoidance through effective detection of failure mode.

What Will You Learn

By attending this seminar, you will be able to:
  • Describe what DV&PV are, who should develop DV&PV, and when DVP & PVP should be completed
  • Describe the key elements of DV&PV
  • List the benefits and objectives of DV&PV
  • Develop Robustness Models and identify five noise factors
  • Develop Design Verification Plans
  • Develop Production Validation Plans
  • Identify DV & PV resources required
  • Differentiate between Design Verification (DV) and Production Validation (PV)
  • Describe the relationship between Robust Engineering, FMEA, and DV&PV
  • Evaluate DV Plans and PV Plans
  • Evaluate test results of DV and PV
  • Assess the quality of DV&PV
