Requirements for Accreditation Bodies when Accrediting Test Laboratories Performing Detection of Suspect/Counterfeit in Accordance with AS6171 General Requirements and the Associated Test Methods
The criteria defined herein shall be utilized by an ISO/IEC 17025 Accreditation Body (AB) to establish conformance with AS6171 Test Methods Standard; General Requirements, Suspect/Counterfeit, Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical Parts and associated AS6171 Test Methods requested/included on the scope of accreditation.
Rationale
This standard was developed to achieve consistency in the accreditation of Test Laboratories performing detection of suspect/counterfeit parts to the requirements of AS6171 Test Methods Standard, General Requirements, Suspect/Counterfeit, Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical Parts and the associated AS6171 Test Methods.
The standard provides assessment requirements and guidance to an Accreditation Body for the purpose of accreditation of Test Laboratory capabilities in detection of suspect/counterfeit Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical (EEE) Parts.
To develop an inspection/test matrix plan for different classes of Electrical, Electronic, and Electromechanical (EEE) commodities to detect suspect and confirmed counterfeit components. The matrix will include recommended visual, physical, electrical, and material testing based on different commodities and associated tier level of determined risk. The plan will include a process for evaluating risk. The plan will provide guidance on the recommended tier level of testing that should be performed based on risk of the supplier, the item, application, and other risk factors. It will also include recommended sampling plans for the tests based on tier level of accepted risk, level of confidence required, and acceptable reject criteria.
* Redlines comparisons are available for those standards
listed in the Revision History that contain a radio button. A
redline comparison of the current version against a revision is
accomplished by selecting the radio button next to the standard and
then selecting 'compare'. At this time, Redline versions only exist
for some AMS standards. SAE will continue to add redline versioning
with ongoing updates to SAE MOBILUS.

SAE MOBILUS® Search Tips
Please note: All terms not contained within quotes, will be evaluated using the OR operator. This means that your search results will contain all results that contain ANY of the entered terms.
