This document covers the basis of, and test procedure for, an overspeed landing test on aircraft tires with rated speeds of 190 mph (306 km/h) and above. The conditions requiring an overspeed test, alternatives, test requirements and pass/fail criteria are addressed.

Welcome to the SAE International A-5C Aircraft Tire Committee public forum. The SAE A-5C Aircraft Tires Committee develops standards for the design, testing, qualification, and effective utilization of aircraft tires and tubes. The Committee promotes the safe integration of tires into the larger context of landing gear, wheel, and brake operations.
