Scope
This document is intended to highlight critical design issues that a panel designer should understand when designing panels for NVIS applications. It is not intended to be a discussion of the benefits of one lighting technology versus another. See ARP4168 for a more complete discussion of these lighting technologies.
Rationale
The primary justification for the revision change is to reflect the change of AS7788 to MIL-DTL-7788. Other changes were made to improve the overall document.

Issuing Committee
The purpose of the A-20 Aircraft Lighting Committee is to provide a forum for the development of aerospace standards in aircraft lighting that will fulfill the needs and requirements of operation control and utility. The scope includes both interior and exterior lighting. A list of the technical reports developed by the A-20 Committee can be obtained by searching on 'aircraft lighting' and selecting 'standards', from the SAE Home Page. A-20 Standards

* Redlines comparisons are available for those standards
listed in the Revision History that contain a radio button. A
redline comparison of the current version against a revision is
accomplished by selecting the radio button next to the standard and
then selecting 'compare'. At this time, Redline versions only exist
for some AMS standards. SAE will continue to add redline versioning
with ongoing updates to SAE MOBILUS.
