To make a positive decision for the installation of a powered drive system in the cargo loading system during the definition of the aircraft on-board cargo loading system to be developed/procured.
To provide the user with general requirements to be taken into consideration during the preparation of component specifications for powered drive units (PDUs) to be used in aircraft cargo systems. This is to provide the author of such a component specification with a selection of criteria in order to obtain an optimum component suitable for the users’ applications.

Committee AGE-2 reports to the Aerospace General Projects Division. The main, or governing committee, AGE-2, is composed of the most experienced members, mainly from the airlines, airframe manufacturers, and support equipment manufacturers, to provide leadership and guidance for the Membership to implement the work is drawn with reasonable balance from airlines, airframe manufacturers, support equipment manufacturers, and others with special aircraft related expertise. Members serve based on their knowledge, expertise, and experience and not as agents or representatives of any organization.
