Abstract
Capacitive occupant sensing is described, beginning with sensor physics, sensor structure and implementation, basic attributes, and vehicle integration. Real-world sensing challenges, vehicle application pro's and con's, and combinations of capacitive and other occupant sensing technologies are then discussed.
