Abstract
A progressive fuzzy modeling method is proposed in this paper. It gives a classical fuzzy model with local linear model in the conclusion part of each rule. To avoid model inversion difficulties, the fuzzy model structure is used in order to implement the system controller. It induces Sugeno's type of rules with triangular membership functions in the premises and control parameters in the conclusion of the rules.
This methodology is then applied to the case of automotive engine air inlet modeling.
