Abstract
Two different types of software developed for aircraft safety analysis are described. The Flight Data Recorder Visualiser (FDRV) has been developed to allow interactive, 3D visualisation of FDR/QAR data on low-cost PC platforms. The Air Accident Investigation Tool (AAIT) allows simplified computer-reconstruction of air accidents. Both programs have been successfully applied to air accident/incident investigations. The background, applications and future developments of these programs is outlined in this paper.
