Abstract
The rapid pace in the advancement of aircraft and engine repair technology and the continuing reduction of FAA resources as a result of economic policy have made it prudent for the FAA to consider action that would ensure future certification efforts are improved. Delegation of authority is a well-proven system that supports the efficiency and safety of the certification and continuing airworthiness process. Thus, working in concert with the industry to improve the delegation process will make it more effective and provide the FAA and the industry with needed flexibility to manage their priorities more efficiently.
