Abstract
The control of noise and vibration will improve the achievable return from agricultural construction, and industrial equipment by improving equipment reliability and operator comfort. To achieve a reduction in the transmitted noise and vibration on these vehicles actuation technologies that require low power and possess high reliability must be employed.
This paper will discuss the transmission of noise and vibration from source to driver. A discussion of actuator location and sizing will also be presented. In addition to discussion of active vehicle suspension the initial results from ongoing development of a rare earth magnetostrictive device will be presented.
