Abstract
In recent years a dramatic increase in the intensities of vehicle front lighting has taken place. New light sources and progress in the calculation of reflectors have resulted in an increase of lighting efficiency. In combination with the worldwide homologation of plastic lenses a new freedom of design for frontlighting has been achieved. Trends are shown using recent headlamp designs as examples.
