Abstract
Developed by DYNAMIC SOFTWARE, OPTRIS is a software package dedicated to the modelization of sheet metal forming in an industrial environment.
Forming is not a single process and may be split into different stages: the gravity stage that leads to the correct initial shape of the sheet metal, the blankholder closing stage, the forming stage and the springback stage. Moreover, stamping is often a multi-step process and numerous specific technics are used, such as drawbeads, cutting during the process, … Finally, aluminium is an investigation field for the industry.
In order to simulate the complete process in a realistic time for the industry and with the greatest easiness, some specific tools and algorithms have been developed in OPTRIS - the solver, based on the explicit finite element method combined with an automatic mesh refinement - and its pre- and post-processor FICTURE.
