Abstract
Several idle control actuators are based on a solenoϊd technology but a more efficient solution is to use stepper motors. Ehanced knowledge of the idle air flow parameters allows optimization of the stepper motor design. The objective of this paper is to describe this optimization process, with the help of experimental data and numerical simulation.
