Improvement of Dynamic Simulation Accuracy of Engine Block Parts

This paper describes our research to achieve highly accurate prediction of engine block vibration characteristics up to 3 kHz. This objective has been achieved through such efforts as measuring actual casting for its precise modelization, measuring modulus of elasticity that vary from one place to another, using isoparametric elements which are suitable for modelizing corner radii, and improving accuracy of experimental mode analysis.
