Development of Active Vibration Control Technique By Optimal Power Absorber-Part 1: Theory

The purpose of this research is to develop an active control strategy which is cost effective and does not require any prior identification of the vibrating system, in other words, non-application-specific. For this purpose, an active control technique in which power absorbed by the controller is maximized is focused on. The idea of this maximization of power absorption has so far been reported negatively. In this paper this idea is re-examined with simple mechanical models and a possible control method is presented to achieve our goal.
