Abstract
A multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) active noise and vibration control (ANVC) development workstation is described. The purpose of the system is to provide a sophisticated ANVC environment which will allow our in house users to focus on the acoustics of their specific application rather than on the details of data acquisition, digital signal processing (DSP), and active control programming.
The BBN ProANVC system combines DSP and adaptive control technology with a graphic interface which provides the user with a simple way to modify the system specific control parameters as well as monitor the control system performance. Currently, a feedforward filtered-x LMS type algorithm capable of performing both narrowband and multiple frequency control is embedded in the system. ProANVC operates in a PC-DOS environment in conjunction with a 32 bit floating point DSP chip, and can support up to 32 input and 16 output channels. ProANVC has been applied to a number of ANVC problems with outstanding results, two of which will be discussed.
